5 Thurne River Lodge Houseboat

Pros & Cons Positive: Just had 2 nights here in house boat number 5, got a few pros and cons, first with the pros, location is lovely, theres a pub next door which is good, the novelty of staying in a house boat on the river is fun, fully equipped kitchen with all cutlery and utensils, plenty of parking, self check in was easy Negative: Now for the cons, the lodge itself could of been cleaner, there was beard hair on the cooker, and lodge just needed a better deep clean in general, the kettle had an unbelievable amount of limescale inside, was thick white with limescale, the toilet in our houseboat (number 5) was broken both the lid and the seat, the mattress in the main bedroom wasn't very comfortable, it was an old soft spring mattress with not enough support for my back, others may find it ok though? The internet speed is only 3-5mb so if you have more than 2 people watching youtube expect buffering, was just barely usable for whats app and browsing google (amazon firestick kept buffering) finally you can hire a small rowing boat for £50 which i thought was quite expensive for what they are, £25 would be much more reasonable, overall was just a little bit tired and run down.

Positive: Had a very enjoyable 4 night stay. The houseboat was spot on and a refreshing change from the norm. Location is great with loads to do in the area that's just a short drive away and the bonus of a good pub a very short walk away.
